This page is an opportunity for you to see what other bonafide visitors to The Bear Den have had to say about it. Although this site has only been on the net for a short time, here is a sampling of the comments from visitors ......

I am a graduate student at Texas A&M University. I am working on a paper for one of my classes, behavioral ecology. I came across your page on bears and enjoyed it very much. The topic of my paper is a comparison of the behavioral ecology of several different bears (brown, black, polar, sloth). I was wondering if you could tell me where you get most of your information.

I just saw your website on bears, and want to say how good it is. I am biologist (my doctorate is in genetics) but have worked mostly with mammals -- another story, really, because my point is that I read the website as a professional. I was impressed by how carefully you've presented material graphically (it's a very easy site to read) with an excellent balance between technically useful information and popular material. I had not known, for example, that female bears can devour as many as 20,000 calories a day. Impressive, that. Again, my many thanks for such a fine job! Best wishes.

I have just found your most informative Bear Den site on the internet - thanks from a lay person for putting so much useful information together. Let me explain. I am a freelance writer and recently had the opportunity to go with some biologists and Parks Canada people to visit a black bear den to check out the mother and her new cub. I now plan to write an article about the experience ...

It is a real pleasure to see the care and effort that you have put into these BEAR Pages. These animals are among the most misunderstood and mistreated animals in the world, and it is really great to see them getting the attention that they justly deserve. Having had the privilege of viewing these magnificent creatures in their natural enviroment, I can assure anyone who ever has the opportunity to do so to grab it while they still can. For those who can't do this, your pages are an excellent source of information. The pictures are fantastic to look at as well. I love the picture of the cub on the Cub Den Page. Thank you for your efforts and keep up the excellent work.

What a wonderful source of information on bears. My husband has served on the board for The Great Bear Foundation of Montana since 1984 and volunteers with the black bear research being done in the Huron/Manistee National Forest in Michigan. My sons have visited bear dens with their father to monitor mothers with cubs. My ten year decided to do his science project on bears this year to try to let people know how important it is to learn how to live along side these beautiful animals and manage them wisely as their habitat continues to diminish. We were very pleased to find the wealth of information you are providing.

Hi Don: I work for the Arizona Game and Fish Department in Tucson and I'm a new member of the Internet community. I do information and education work and each summer we have conflicts caused by people making food available to bears in campgrouds located in the "sky island" mountain ranges of southeastern Arizona. Our agency had a planning meeting today to discuss ways to further educate the public about this problem and I thought I would do a search on the Web. I hit on The Bear Den page and I just had to drop you a line and tell you what an excellent job you've done. Your site is packed with excellent information, the page designs look great and everything is smooth and fast. The Bear Den is an outstanding example of environmental education in action. Thanks.
